Common Causes for Head-On Collisions
Though it may seem like head-on collisions are easy to avoid and rarely happen, there are numerous reasons why these front-end crashes happen quite frequently. Common causes of head-on accidents include:
- Fatigued driving
- A party attempting to pass in a no passing zone
- Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs
- Distracted driving
- Traveling on rural, undivided two-lane roads.

Head-on accidents are frequently viewed as the most dangerous type of crash. When automobiles are moving at rapid speeds, there is a large risk of fatality. While head-on collisions only account for a small percentage of all auto accidents, they tend to result in fatalities.
