Stockton Pedestrian Hit-and-Run
I’m Ed Smith, a Stockton personal injury attorney. Officers from the Stockton Police Department are asking the public to assist in tracking down an SUV. The SUV and its driver caused a severe pedestrian accident on the morning of Monday, December 19, 2016. The driver of the SUV also remains outstanding in this case for fleeing from the scene resulting in a pedestrian hit-and-run incident.
A female pedestrian was walking at the intersection of California Street and Arcade Street in Stockton. At approximately 10:57 am, she was struck by an oncoming vehicle driving at a high rate of speed. The 32-year-old victim suffered serious injuries including bone fractures of the ankle and elbow.

The following video shows the pedestrian accident in addition to the vehicle that fled from the scene of the accident. If you skip to 3:55 in the video, you may observe a 2000’s white Kia Sportage SUV with black door trim in the opposite lanes of the roadway approach the female pedestrian at a high rate of speed. The driver drove away from the scene without stopping to aid the injured victim.
SPD NEWS – FELONY HIT & RUN INVESTIGATION Case# 16-47408On December 19, 2016, at approximately 10:57 a.m., Officers responded to a report of a felony hit & run with injuries at California St. and Arcade St. When Officers arrived, they located a 32 year old female pedestrian who had been struck by a white SUV type vehicle. The driver of the SUV did not stop to render assistance. The Victim suffered serious injuries including a fractured ankle and elbow. Based on evidence left at the scene, detectives were able to determine that the vehicle is a 2000s Kia Sportage SUV with black door trim. The vehicle will be missing the passenger side rear view mirror.
