Roseville PD Celebrating Holiday Season
I’m Ed Smith, a Roseville personal injury attorney. Officers from the Roseville Police Department are celebrating the Holidays in a uniquely different way this year. Officers are issuing gift certificates rather than traffic citations for drivers in the city of Roseville.
The Roseville Police Departments intention is to improve the lives of residents in the City of Roseville. For this reason, the police department has created a program to give back holiday cheer and to educate at the same time. Pulling over drivers in less affluent areas in an attempt to expand their community outreach program. They are then handing out Walmart and Target gift certificates. The gift certificates were donated by the Roseville Crime Stoppers, the Police Department and the Rotary Club.

The holiday season can be stressful for some that are barely making ends meet. One woman who had only $20 dollars to spend on gifts, received a happy surprise when officers pulled her over and “issued” her a gift certificate, the officers received a hug in return. The following video uploaded by ABC10 on Facebook demonstrates the joy in the faces of the residents in Roseville touched by the holiday cheer program. The program allows officers from the Police Department to give back to the community and the program in turn creates endless memories for locals.
Instead of tickets, these Roseville police officers were stopping drivers to spread a little holiday cheer!
