Vallejo Coastal Cleanup Day

Vallejo Coastal Cleanup Day Needs Volunteers

I’m Ed Smith, a Vallejo Personal Injury Lawyer. The community of Vallejo is encouraging its residents to come out, roll up your sleeves and get busy helping at the annual California Coastal Cleanup Day. Why? Because the beach can’t take it anymore!

California Coastal Cleanup Day

The California Coastal Cleanup Day is an annual event that brings members of the local community together to address issues like how to clean up and beautify their surrounding environment. Did you know that this event is the largest of its kind involving countless volunteers? The beautification and clean up takes place on the third Saturday in September. So come on out and join the rest of the volunteers who care about Vallejo and how it looks. The event spans over 2,000 miles and includes areas in the state along the inland and coastal shorelines. We think this is an awesome way to give back to the community while also getting to know each other in the process.

Calling All Volunteers!

This year’s California Coastal Cleanup Day needs more volunteers! In 2015, there were 796 volunteers from the city of Vallejo that participated in the event. The volunteers gathered more than 12,000 pounds of recyclables and trash during the event. What an amazing accomplishment. At this point, more volunteers are needed to help with the 2016 cleanup date which is fast approaching.

September 17, 2016 – California Coastal Cleanup Day

The California Coastal Cleanup Day will take place from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm on September 17, 2016. The event will be hosted at 20 different locations throughout the city of Vallejo. Volunteers under the age of 18 will require a consent from a parent or guardian prior to participating in the event. The event will provide all cleanup supplies but volunteers are encouraged to utilize sturdy shoes, hat, work gloves, and sunscreen. The Vallejo Sanitation and Flood Control states that volunteers this year will be clearing the debris and trash from lakes, marshes, creeks, and shorelines throughout the vicinity. In order to register as a volunteer, you must call (707) 645-8258.
