Sacramento Tree Crushes Car

I’m Ed Smith, a Sacramento Tree Injury Lawyer. A gigantic tree came crashing down on a BMW parked in the driveway of a home at Merritt Way and Clunie Drive in Sacramento. The owner of the silver luxury sedan indicated that she had recently been in the car with a small child when she forgot something in the house and ran in to get it. She said she left her child strapped into a car seat for just a few moments to retrieve and item. She commented on how quickly a situation can turn deadly. It wasn’t too long after that when a huge tree came down on her car. She, and her child, were not in the car at the time.

What Caused the Tree to Fall?

Apparently a strong breeze whipping through the Sacramento community contributed to bringing this monster of a tree down. Additionally, wet soil from recent rainfall may have also been a factor.

Trees Falling During Adverse Weather

Sacramento is fondly nicknamed The City of Trees.  Sacramento boasts a huge number of trees per capita. Most Sacramento citizens find our beautiful trees, spring blossoms and gorgeous fall leaves to be pleasing aesthetically.  From time to time, our beautiful trees can become dangerous or even deadly. Especially, during adverse weather conditions. Other reasons can contribute to a tree becoming dangerous and/or deadly. Neglect in the proper care and maintenance of a tree can cause problems. Allowing a tree to decay, rot and die without taking necessary action to protect others from harm is a classic example of negligence.   Injury, death and/or property damage may result from falling trees.

To determine who is at fault for a fallen tree or fallen limb, the location of the tree should be taken into consideration.
