Citrus Heights Residential Fire

Residents inside a Citrus Heights home had quite a scare early Thursday morning.

Shortly before 2 a.m., their smoke detectors went off inside their home located at 7137 Twin Brook Court. They smelled smoke and immediately called 911.

When firefighters rolled up to the scene, they saw flames and heavy smoke coming from the garage, according to Battalion Chief, Tom Neville, of Sacramento Metro Fire.

Crews had to knock down the garage door in order to extinguish the flames. The entire garage and a vehicle  parked inside are reported to be a complete loss.

The good news is that all three adults and some pets living inside the house were able to escape safely. No injuries were reported.

The cause of this fire is currently under investigation.
