Elk Grove Police Arrest Drunk Driver
You may have noticed DUI check points in the City of Elk Grove on August 28, 2015. Unfortunately, the drunk driver in the story that follows wasn’t caught that day.
On the afternoon of Sunday, August 30, 2015 officers from the Elk Grove Police Department arrested a man who allegedly hit three cars parked along Shasta Lilly Drive in the City of Elk Grove.
Officers say, 25-year-old Singching Vang of Sacramento showed signs of being impaired and then failed a field sobriety test.
Vang was medically cleared at a local hospital after hitting those parked cars. He was then arrested and taken to the county jail.
Driving Under the Influence/Driving While Intoxicated
These are the terms commonly used for alcohol-related driving. Driving drunk is responsible for nearly 1/3 of all traffic deaths in the United States. Many drunk drivers are repeat offenders. Some seldom get caught.
Drunk drivers not only bring injury or death to themselves but also to countless innocent drivers, their passengers and pedestrians.
An individual who causes an auto accident while operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs and/or alcohol is considered negligent.
This is of little comfort to the innocent victim who has received injuries or lost their loved one due to the negligence of the drunk driver. The driver convicted of DUI is responsible for paying for all damages.
