Alameda County Fire Confirmed Two Deaths

Sadly, the Alameda County Fire personnel confirmed two people died in the automobile.

The train kept moving about a quarter of a mile along the tracks after the collision before coming to a complete stop.

Was It a Commuter Train?

Yes. It was the Capital Corridor, #532 train, headed northbound out of San Jose to Sacramento, according to Amtrak officials.

No one on the train was injured. The passengers had to be transported by a bus to another train in order to continue on to Sacramento.

What Caused the Fatal Crash Involving Amtrak Train?

Amtrak is currently checking the status of the arm gates at the intersection where the accident occurred.

It must be determined if the arm gates were down when the accident occurred.
